Australia
Being the biggest island in the world, and sometimes reffered to as the "island-continent", Australia hosts a wide variety of diving ecosystems and marine fauna which makes it a dream for underwater photographers.
On the East side, off the coast of Queensland, the Great Barrier reef stretches over 2300 km and is thus the world's largest reef, also labelled one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
The Southern side of the island, bordered by the austral ocean, is home to a wide variety of marine species, some of them endemic like the elusive seadragons.
On the North-West coast of Australia, Ningaloo reef is a hidden treasure. Here any encounter is possible, from many different species of sharks, including whale sharks, tiger sharks and great white sharks, to reef mantas, and in season humpback whales migrating from Antartica to the warm waters of northen Australia to give birth.
