Azores
In the middle of the Atlantic ocean, the azores is a volcanic archipelago visited by a lot of marine life, including several species of cetaceans, but also different species of sharks ,among which Mako and Blue Sharks.
Blue shark (Prionace glauca) are an epipelagic species living at depth of 300-500 meters, but sometimes coming up to the surface in order to feed on floating carrions.
Like most sharks living in the middle of the ocean where food is scarce, Blue sharks are quite inquisitive since everything in the water can be a chance to eat. Because of this, they generally don't hesitate to come in contact with scuba divers, thus offering great pictures opportunities to underwater photographers.
